Gowaan Gift

As professional athletes we know what it’s like when you’re trying to ‘make it’ as a career. A lot of brands are happy to help out with products but not money, this is why we started our Gowaan Gift initiative.

The Gowaan Gift is aimed at riders who are looking to turn their passion for bikes into their career and need that extra bit of financial support to get there, whether it’s getting to their next event or funding a video project, we want to help the future of our sport!

With money raised from selling Gowaan merchandise and raffle tickets at the Gowaan Fest, we are thrilled to be able to play a small part in helping out these athletes.

Robin Goomes

Robin was the first recipient of a Gowaan Gift in 2021. After watching her backflip in Innsbruck and getting to know her a bit more, it was easy to see she had some crazy potential!

She’d already spent her life savings to do a season in Europe and had received an invite to multiple freeride events like Audi Nines and Dark Horse later that year, so we gave her £1000 to help her get to those invitational events!

Robin Goomes is now a staple name in the freeride scene, she’s gone from strength to strength; winning Gold in Crankworx Speed & Style events, making her mark in Utah at RedBull Formation, and being one of the first women to ride at Darkfest, just to name a few. She’s constantly pushing her limits, and whilst we’ve seen big things from her, we know there’s even bigger to come.

Innes Graham

Innes was only planning to do his home EWS in 2022 in Innerleithen, but when he stormed to 3rd place in the opening round of the series he decided to give the full season a crack. With the support of a few brands as well as receiving a Gowaan Gift of £1000 he managed to race the full season, finishing an impressive 23rd in the overall in his first ever full EWS season!

Innes has since gained multiple sponsors and continues to race Enduro to an extremely high level in the Elite men’s field, all whilst still being a coach at Dirt School in Innerleithen, passing on his knowledge and expertise to the future generation.

Becky Cook

Becky is a regular on the Enduro World circuit, always turning up come rain or shine. Having raced the 2022 season as a privateer we gave Becky a Gowaan Gift of £1000 to help get her to the final race of the season in Finale Ligure, the Trophy of Nations. Along with Bex and Hattie Harnden, the team managed to secure 3rd place!

Becky is now on the Orange Factory Enduro team and working hard to pursue her Enduro goals!
